Peter has worked exclusively in the field of commercial real estate for over 25 years. During this period of time, he has completed over 465 transactions representing 3.55 M square feet of space and has been involved with the development, acquisition, or disposition of over 1.71M square feet of space. He has a solid background in brokerage, property management, construction management, development, and acquisition. Now, Peter oversees a team of eight industry professionals who work in the areas of industrial, office, retail, land, and investment.

Peter earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN in 1992. While in college in the fall and winter of 1991, Peter participated in a study abroad program in Greece, Turkey, Italy, and travelled parts of Europe by train. After school, and prior to working in the field of commercial real estate, worked in sales and technical sales with 2 local companies. He began his commercial real estate career with Steiner Development, Inc. in 1996 as Property Manager for a portfolio of 1.5M square feet with over 100 tenants. In 1999, Peter became a Sales Associate responsible for business development and for marketing and leasing a 2.5M square foot real estate portfolio. Then in early 2005, he became Director – Business Development prior to leaving and starting his own venture, Summerhill Commercial Real Estate, LLC in March of 2006.

Peter attained the designation of CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) in August 2008. Peter is also a member of MNCAR, MAAR, & NAIOP. Peter served as a board member of MNCAR from early 2014 through 2018. On January 2, 2018, Summerhill Commercial acquired Steiner Development & Steiner Commercial Realty. Summerhill now consists of 1 Principal/Broker, 3 Broker/Agents, 2 Property Manager/Agents, 1 Accounting Professional, 2 Property Accountants, and 1 Property Maintenance Technician.

In his off time, Peter enjoys spending time with his family, reading, travel, current events, hiking, fitness, running, and biking. He completed a half marathon in 2012 (Lola’s Lakehouse Half Marathon in Waconia), the 20 mile Bear Water Run in White Bear Lake in 2012, and the Twin Cities Marathon in 2013.

As a Senior Associate, my position provides a service to small and medium size business owners in their real estate decisions and strategies. I strictly focus on representing and negotiating on behalf of the lessee and buyer, so there is truly no conflict of interest. I focus on Industrial, Office, & Retail properties in the Minneapolis suburban area market.

After understanding my clients’ real estate needs, we search/review opportunities, tour spaces, financially analyze real estate options, create proposals for interested real estate options, negotiate the proposed terms as well as Leases and/or Purchase Agreements.

Overall, my goal is to save my client time, energy and money, so they can focus on their day-to-day business operations as well as outside business.

Joe Smith joined Steiner Development as a Leasing Associate in 1987 and has spent his entire commercial real estate career with Steiner. He is responsible for the lease up and tenant retention of an industrial and commercial real estate portfolio of approximately 1.5 million square feet throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Since 1987, he as built an industry respected background by leasing Steiner managed properties, providing Tenant Representation and Sales Brokerage services, achieving lease up of numerous new developments and working directly with his team at Summerhill in the completion of new tenant improvements. Mr. Smith is a seasoned professional that conducts business with high integrity and ethics while delivering excellent market knowledge and expertise to those he serves, whether on the landlord or tenant side of the table. Mr. Smith is the 2001 Past-President of the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR), and is an active member of that organization. Joe is also a member of NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Properties), and serves on their Community Enhancement Committee. Steiner and Smith were awarded the 2009 MNCAR Industrial Transaction of the Year Award.

As Vice President – Property Management, Patrick effectively interacts with owners, tenants, and vendors in ensuring Summerhill Commercial’s properties are well-maintained and that each tenant is actively supported. Patrick is responsible for a portfolio of retail, office, and industrial properties totaling over 1,270,000 square feet throughout the Twin Cities metro. Patrick has experience managing both residential and commercial properties and has over two decades of experience managing a commercial portfolio for Summerhill Commercial.

Patrick joined Steiner Development in 2003, and then Summerhill Commercial Real Estate, LLC in 2018 when Summerhill purchased Steiner, and has been in the property management field since 1999. An exceptional team player, Patrick’s attention to detail and creative problem-solving make him an invaluable asset to the Summerhill team.

Patrick and his wife Stephanie enjoy rediscovering life through the eyes of their two children and taking advantage of the ample experiences the Twin Cities offer. Patrick also enjoys golfing and coaching baseball in his free time.

Eryn joined Summerhill Commercial in April of 2023 as a Property Manager. Eryn is results driven and uses her exceptional communication skills to facilitate the establishment of strong relationships with clients, vendors, and contacts. Her attention to detail ensures that her properties are well maintained, and the day-to-day operational needs of each property are met. Eryn also brings an energetic work attitude and has strong organizational skills, both of which contribute to successful outcomes for the company and clients.

For the past 15 years, Eryn has been working as a property manager, focusing on large homeowner associations and senior cooperative buildings in the metro area. Eryn started her career in real estate in 2005 selling residential homes in the Twin Cities, and is a long-time resident of Prior Lake, MN where she has raised her 2 children as an active parent.

Terri joined Summerhill Commercial Real Estate, LLC in May of 2021. She has 20+ years of accounting experience in commercial real estate for Class A and industrial properties.

As a licensed realtor, Terri also managed industrial properties for several years. By combining her knowledge of property management with her experience in accounting, Terri is able to provide a wholistic approach to property management accounting.

Terri earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Business Adminstration from the University of Minnesota, Crookston.

Jean joined Summerhill in the summer of 2019 in a position of administration, accounts payable and marketing.

Previously, Jean worked for 20 years in commercial real estate development and property management serving as an Assistant to the Partners with responsibilities for concept and design development, marketing, tenant liaison and project management. She lead a team in the development of Thirty Bales Restaurant in Hopkins and the redesign of Rivers Restaurant in Chicago.

Erin joined Summerhill in July 2023 as a part-time Accounting Clerk, while working toward her Business Management/Accounting Degree at St. Catherine’s University.  Previous to her career change, Erin worked as a Licensed Dental Assistant working in metro-area dental offices.

Erin’s area of focus is Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Financial Operations Support, using her skillsets of excellence in client customer service and attention to detail.

Johnny joined Summerhill in 2005 and performs general maintenance for all properties in the Summerhill portfolio.

Wayne Hagen has a long career of representing Buyers, Sellers, Landlords, and Tenants helping them manage their position and working through the pitfalls and issues unique to real estate transactions.
Prior to joining Summerhill Wayne has worked with large national brokerage companies, but firmly believes that is the quality of the individual you choose to work with more than the company name. Wayne has completed several hundred transactions over his career from 1,500 square foot renewals to over 300,000 square foot leases and sales. Three times he has been chosen or been a finalist for the industries “Deal of the Year”.
Wayne is also a past president of the Organization of Commercial Realtors, which is the body that preceded, and was changed to, MNCAR.
In his spare time, Wayne enjoys time with his four grown children, volunteering for Down’s Syndrome events, golfing, snow skiing, and is a professional contract tournament poker dealer.
